The project included the construction of a much needed pedestrian bridge crossing over North Bellefield Ave in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh. The bridge is a vital connection between the Mary Schenley Building and the Janet Simon Building for WPSBC.

Prior to the bridge, staff would carefully cross the street with students between the two buildings on a daily basis, stopping traffic and weathering the elements. This included transporting students of all ages with visual impairment and other challenges across a major artery in Oakland.
